"I get this money in abundance, Chuuurch, oya let's dance!
Praise him for the endless blessings, for the gift of life and the wisdom
For the money in the bank and the pockets
My career launched off, rockets
Touch down in Kenya, we balling
Me and Maddtraxx here shot calling..."
Some may say Illbliss's meteoric rise could be alluded to happenstance but I would say otherwise. The thoroughbred member has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in recent times. I need not list his credit, go check the numbers.
Bless Me on the other hand has Illbliss doing a semi-gospel tune with producer Silvastone, Female crooner Chidinma and Kenya's Maddtraxx. This sounds more like a picnic and less like a party hosted by Illbliss. Like the name of the song suggests, it's not so hard to define the subject matter.
Silvastone is on point for the instrumental, this is totally a pan African affair. Deep bassline, guitar riffs and pulsating fast paced rhythms, you can hear a bit of high life in the syncopation used here. I'm not familiar with the voices of Maddtraxx and Silvastone but suing common sense I kind of figured out Silvastone sang the hook (please correct me if I'm wrong) and he probably left the most lasting impression in my opinion, not taking anything away from the rest of the gang. Illbliss is still executing that masta-killa no rhyme bar technique which he unfortunately gets away with from time to time but in the same vein makes his rhymimg scheme unique from other Nigerian emcees out there.
Honesty is my best trait and I say this with all sincerity. This song may sound bland to some but really what's there not to like about a song dedicated to the most high?
Last words: I guess the way to thank God is by splurging so live it up my dear, live it up.
